Chris Winchell is a member of CPG’s professional writing team. Chris holds a JD law degree as well as an advanced LL.M. Master of Laws degree. He enjoys writing for his clients in order to give them that extra “edge” to stand out and get noticed.

Chris is a very talented writer and researcher with decades of professional experience as a successful practicing Attorney, writing high-end professional documents and memoranda for both courts and clients. He has counseled and worked with a wide range of different people, from all walks of life and professions. He understands the military and government service, having served as an infantry Marine, enlisting in the Marine Corps Reserves while attending college at Indiana University. He attended boot camp at Paris Island, South Carolina, and the Marine Corps School of Infantry (SOI) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. During his junior year of college, his Reserve unit was activated during the First Gulf War (Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm) and he was deployed to the countries of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

After later becoming a licensed Attorney, in 2002, Chris successfully completed Marine officer training at the Marine Officer Candidate School (OCS) and The Basic School (TBS), both in Quantico, Virginia. Thereafter, he completed training at the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. He worked his way up to the rank of Captain, serving as a Judge Advocate at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii (2003-2006). In this role, he provided professional guidance and counseling to thousands of Marines and Sailors (both active duty and retired) in Hawaii, as well as traveling to Okinawa, Japan. He also advised Commanders in support of various training exercises in Hawaii and South Korea. Based on his desire for excellence and service to others, he was awarded the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal for meritorious service. In 2006, Chris decided to leave the military to focus more on his family and a professional practice as an Attorney, where he appeared in court on an almost-daily basis in his active litigation practice.

With his unique background of professional writing experience as an advocate for his clients, military leadership in both the enlisted and officer ranks, and infectious enthusiasm, Chris stands ready to work for you, to let the details of your career shine, helping you stand out to achieve your career goals.
